Prächtiger Vogel Leierschwanz
Meet the Orpheus of the birds! The male lyrebird copies and samples what it hears in order to create his enchanting courtship song. However, like his mythological relative, he also needs the mute hen, Eurydice, as the muse for his art. In her solo performance, Pauline Jacob interweaves feminist positions with ornithology to create a song about male projections, hierarchies of attention and singing self-empowerment.

Pauline Jacob is a performer and music theater maker working at the borders of music theatrer. Her focus is on testing new forms of music theater and the artistic empowerment of (female*) singers* on stage. She can be seen both as a performer on stage (at venues including Junge Deutsche Oper Berlin, Kampnagel Hamburg, Neuköllner Oper Berlin, Schauspiel Hannover, Staatsoper Stuttgart) and also develops independent productions with artists working in other disciplines, including the performances Vier freundinnenschaftliche Duette and Prächtiger Vogel Leierschwanz and the radio plays Wir - viele and Pamelas Potentiale (WDR). Pauline Jacob studied classical singing at the Hamburg University of Music and Theater until 2014 and is currently completing a Master's degree in applied theater studies in Gießen in addition to her artistic work. She held a scholarship from the Claussen-Simon-Stiftung Hamburg from 2016 – 2018 and held a scholarship from Akademie Musiktheater Heute, in the section "text" from 2018 – 2020.
