&friends Visit at the 2022 Berlin Performing Arts Festival

Create experimental formats, change processes and come together with the audience in a new way.The last two years have clearly shown how innovative, flexible and vital the independent performing arts community is.

The city-wide 2022 edition of the Berlin Performing Arts Festival will once again bring together audience and artists from May 24 to 29, 2022 at familiar locations and explore new places together. The seventh edition of  PAF, which is organized each year by LAFT – Landesverband freie darstellnde Künste Berlin e.V., is celebrating the diversity of the independent performing arts community with a schedule of programming including nearly 50 new productions in all genre of the performing arts from Berlin’s independent performing arts community.

With the national networking format PAF &friends Visit, we bring artists from independent performing arts communities through all of Germany together as visitors to festivals and create space for artistic exchanges, further development and the starting points for long-term collaborations.

The selected artists will be invited to become acquainted with the aesthetics and working methods of the productions of the festival, attend the discourse events and take advantage of wide-ranging networking opportunities. They will come together as a group over the course of shared breakfasts, during events offered within the schedule of ancillary programming and while attending performances to share their experiences. During workshops on artistic collaboration and encounters as aesthetic practice, they have the opportunity to enter into exchanges with each other and present their own processes.
