Fahrbereitschaft
Lichtenberg/Hohenschönhausen
The FAHRBEREITSCHAFT in Berlin-Lichtenberg is a well-preserved commercial courtyard with buildings mostly from the 1950s, an original GDR bar and a bowling alley. Before the fall of the Wall, it was the hub of the Transport Department of the Central Committee of the SED; high-level passenger transport in and out of the former GDR was coordinated and carried out from here. Today, the site is a lively arts and crafts centre.
