Wiegenlieder! is an open air dance performance about motherhood and care work from a queer feminist perspective, inspired by Brecht’s Wiegenlieder einer proletarischen Mutter, or Lullabies of a Working Mother (1932): these are songs for going to sleep that are also intended to shake things up. Upon a breathing landscape made up of air mattresses and melodicas as the living lungs of the piece, the performers dance and work with a choir of care workers somewhere between lulling and revolution, resistance and capitulation.
A Physical Reflection on "Wiegenlieder!" will be held on June 3. The play length is currently 70 minutes (formerly 60 minutes).
