Eurico Ferreira Mathias

Eurico Ferreira Mathias started to play the cello at the age of 18 in his hometown Porto Alegre. In 2005 he moved to São Paulo to continue his studies, working in different orchestras and ensembles.
Mathias moved to Portugal in 2009 to further his studies, taking part in Alexander Znachonak cello’s class until 2012. Eurico lives in Berlin and works with different groups and artists. At Ballhaus Naunynstraße, Eurico Ferreira Mathias was part of Complex of Tensions (2020), a performance by Jasco Viefhues, Auf meinen Schultern (2019) by Raphael Moussa Hillebrand and Ubuntu – Permanente Beunruhigung (2017) among others. In 2021, he was also part of the performance Eigenschwingungen – Forces of Overtones as part of the Decolonial Frequencies festival, curated by meLê yamomo.
